Build Me Up named one of 10 must-see shorts at the 2021 NFTS Grad Showcase

On Friday 28 May, my NFTS graduation film Build Me Up will premiere at the BFI Southbank Cinema in central London, and it has been named by Directors Notes as one of the top 10 must-see shorts!

This film represents 17 months of hard work, with more than 120 people having contributed to the film. I first had the vision for the project in 2017, so to finally have it brought to life and be visible to the public in an actual cinema (thanks, Covid), is just fantastic.

Not only this, but we have been named in Directors Notes’ list of 10 must-see shorts premiering this week at the Showcase. You can read the article by clicking here; alternatively, I have attached screenshots of the coverage below.

We look forward to welcoming anyone attending in person on Friday. Full Covid safety measures are being followed at this event.

Hello there! I’m Steve. Director, Writer, Story Artist & Animator. I’m based in York, UK, but travel up and down the country as needed to help other artists and studios tell great stories. In addition, I lecture part-time on the BA Animation degree at the Northern School of Art, where I work with our team as well as our Aardman partners to prepare our budding animators for our exciting industry. When I’m not doing this, I like to maintain, design and consult on Squarespace websites; something I’ve done since 2013.
